An impressive Nahidul secured victory for Comilla over Sylhet in the first match of the day in the BPL 2022 on Saturday. The team led by Imrul Kayes won the match by 2 wickets.
Sylhet batsmen were not able to put up a big total on the scoreboard in this match. As a result, they scored 96 runs for the loss of all the wickets in 19.1 overs. In reply, Comilla left the field victorious reaching the target in 18.4 overs for 8 wickets.
Comilla crawled to win
Comilla also did not have a good start with the bat chasing such an ordinary target. They lost 5 wickets for 55 runs on the board and were under pressure.
After that, Karim tried to catch the reins of the team. But while trying to score runs quickly, he was dismissed for 18 runs after his name. However, despite losing 8 wickets, Comilla reached the winning target.
Sylhet top orders also failed
Earlier, Sunrisers lost the toss and were sent to bat first. Mosaddek’s Sylhet Sunrisers did not get off to a good start. Sylhet were under pressure after losing 7 wickets for 67 runs in 13.5 overs. They could not stand in front of the disciplined bowling of Nahidul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman. None of the team’s domestic and foreign star batters could bat well.
Comilla captain Imrul Kayes won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. Mustafiz-Nahidul have proved with the ball that the captain’s decision was right. The Sylhet batsmen were up in arms to score runs on the scoreboard in front of their superb bowling. Sylhet’s Colin Ingram scored 20 runs and Ravi Bopara scored 17 runs. Meanwhile, the second highest individual score 19 runs came from extras.
