PSL 2022 is set to take place this year on January 27. In this edition of the Pakistan Super League, spectators will be able to watch the game live from stadium. Meanwhile, the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) has given the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) the nod to allow 100% spectators in the venues.

Cricket fans will watch matches live from stadium galleries

Even though the NCOC has allowed on-field visitors, they have imposed several restrictions on the cricket fans. For instance, the spectators must have taken Covid-19 vaccination prior to the match. In addition, everyone must wear mask and ought to maintain the social distancing in the venues. However, if the corona situation worsens, there is a chance to change this decision in the third week of January.

Karachi and Lahore will host all the matches of the HBL PSL 2022. The final of the HBL PSL Season 7 will occur on February 27, 2022. The NCOC also allowed 100 per cent spectators to enter venues in the recently concluded series between Pakistan and the West Indies. In that series too, the spectators enjoyed watching matches from stadium galleries in accordance with all the restrictions.

Teams and venues

This will be the seventh edition of this popular T20 cricket league in Pakistan. Six teams will participate in this tournament to fight for the championship title. The six teams include Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators. The top four teams in the round robin league will qualify for the knockout stage of the tournament.

The PCB will arrange 15 matches at National Stadium in Karachi and 19 matches at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. However, Gaddafi Stadium will host the final match of the league. The title sponsorship of this franchise league belongs to Habib Bank Limited, Pakistan.
